Inspired by the John Bauer illustration of the tale of the princess Tuvstarr and Skutt the Moose. The Moose takes the princess from the Dream Castle meadow to the great forest. There she meets elves who take her crown away from her.

Peter is shocked to learn from the crow Solomon Caw that he is not still a bird, but more like a human - Solomon says he is crossed between them as a "Betwixt-and-Between".  From J.M Barrie's 1906 novel Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens.

In Greek mythology, Andromeda is the daughter of Cepheus, king of Aethiopia, and his wife, Cassiopeia. When Cassiopeia boasts that Andromeda is more beautiful than the Nereids, she is forced to chain Andromeda to a rock as a sacrifice to appease Poseidon.
